Elaina – Founder & Head Instructor

Elaina is the founder and Head Instructor of Impact Martial Arts, with a genuine passion for helping people grow — both on and off the mats.

What drives Elaina most is seeing the transformation in her students. Whether it’s a child who begins their journey feeling shy and unsure, then within a few months is confidently saying hello and putting their hand up in class, or an adult who learns to switch off from daily stress, enjoy training, and take pride in their progress — those moments are what it’s all about.

Elaina has been involved in martial arts since the age of 7, earning her junior black belt at just 11 years old. Growing up, she had a strong love for sport and competed in various activities, with football being her main focus. She played as a goalkeeper for West Bromwich Albion from the age of 11 to 16. However, following an injury that brought her football journey to an early end, her passion for martial arts was reignited.

She returned fully to her training, went on to achieve her adult black belt, and progressed into becoming an instructor — a role that allows her to share the life-changing benefits martial arts has given her.

Throughout her journey, Elaina has had the opportunity to train with some of the world’s most respected martial artists, including Guru Bob Breen, Sensi Erik Paulson, Boxing Coach Tommy Thompson, Ian Kelly and Paul Kelly, Professor Vanessa English and UFC Veteran Vaughan Lee.

Her teaching style is built on encouragement, structure, and real connection — creating an environment where students feel supported, challenged, and proud of their progress every step of the way.

Tammy - Instructor

Tammy started her martial arts journey at 14 and quickly showed a real commitment to her training, earning her black belt by the age of 16. That early dedication is something she still carries into her coaching today, setting a strong example for the students she teaches.

She particularly enjoys boxing and Jeet Kune Do (JKD). For Tammy, boxing brings energy and intensity, helping students develop timing, movement, and sharp, precise skills. JKD, on the other hand, allows her to focus on adaptability and efficiency — teaching students how to think, react, and apply techniques in a practical way.

Tammy genuinely enjoys teaching and finds it incredibly rewarding to see her students grow. Whether it’s helping someone build confidence, improve their skills, or simply enjoy training, she is passionate about supporting each individual on their journey. She has been coaching since 2019, working with a variety of ages and abilities, and takes pride in creating a positive and encouraging environment.

Outside of martial arts, Tammy enjoys going to concerts and listening to music — something that reflects her energetic and upbeat personality, which she brings into every class.
